We visited Plymouth Rock, where the Pilgrims landed in 1620. We saw the symbolic rock which represented where the first Pilgrim foot landed after a 66 day trans-Atlantic voyage. We also saw the Mayflower II which is a exact replica of the original Mayflower which the Pilgrims sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. It was quite fascinating story to hear how the Pilgrims left England after being persecuted for their religion and left to find a home where they could practice their faith in peace and harmony without persecution. They first intended to sail to Virginia but landed on the tip of Cape Cod but found Cape Cod to be too sandy and traveled across Cape Cod Bay to which is now is called Plymouth. It was nice to visit this site so close to the First Thanksgiving. Where they thanked God for surviving their first year at their new home, now called America.
