El Matador Beach Photo Diary

Not in our travel bucket list, it was just a stroke of luck when we drove by El Matador Beach in Malibu CA. It was 83 degrees fahrenheit, so we decided to spent a whole afternoon here at this beach. A good weather to bake ourselves under the sun.
Ahhh! The water is so refreshing. I can't do this in Boston at this winter time.
By looking at this photo, I could hardly believe that he is a big now.
He likes going under the little caves within the rocks.
I love his sense of humor... he knows how to pose in front of the camera.
I guess, he is following in his daddy's footsteps. But it scared husband to death when he saw Mr.Freddy using his camera. Santa gave him a camera this past Christmas but he forgot to bring it with him.
A man's best friend. This dog had been chasing him. He must like Mr.Freddy.

Disneyland Photo Diary

Every child has a dream. Big or small dream. A dream for lots of toys that bring happiness to them. Just like any other children, Mr.Freddy has his own dreams, too. Every time we watch tv and the Disneyland commercial will pop on the screen, he would scream for joy, pointing out the tv and wishes for going to Disneyland!

Yeehaw, I'm at the Disneyland! My dream came true! Thanks Mom and Dad for being supportive in making my dream happen.

And I was jumping for joy again when I see Lightning McQueen and Mater!

Mr.Freddy preferred going on a smooth ride like carousel. This is the only ride that he didn't refuse to ride on. He became terrified after we went on Thunderhole ride. Hubby and I had no idea that the latter ride is like riding on a roller coaster, huh!

Me and Mickey. Bring back the child in me. Mr.Freddy wasn't in the mood to have pictures with all the Disney characters except Lightning McQueen and Mater only.

Valley of Fire State Park

As of this writing, we've been traveling for two weeks already and we are all enjoying this long family's journey. Finally, I got a better connection tonight and I am able to update our blog. You know, I can't live without the internet. Yes, internet is vital especially for a blog junkie like me. Some of the places we had gone to were really desolated such as Death Valley (will share photos on the next post). We were there last night and the internet service in hotel where we stayed at, only worked the next morning. Anyhow, I'm glad we are back in the city for a while. Tomorrow, hubby and I are taking Mr.Freddy to see Mickey Mouse, Woody, Buzz, Ligtning McQueen and Mater. Yuhoooo! Tomorrow is Mr.Freddy's biiiiiigggg day! He is very excited about it!

First Night in Vegas

Strolling around Las Vegas on a cold night with a lil' boy who's full of energy is quite stressful for the hubby and me. Since this place is something new to Mr.Freddy, he wanted to explore all things around him. Those striking lights are so magical to his eyes. Once he's restricted on the lists of don'ts, he would go against us like running away and either hubby or I would chase after him. Chasing him is just like a game for the lil' man. When we caught him, while we are still upset on what he did, he would respond us back with a big laugh. I know, his silly acts can be really upsetting but nothing else I can do, he's just a child. I wagered he's enjoying this trip just like his parents do.

His first night away from home was kinda nostalgic. He kept on saying he wanted to go home, he wanted to sleep on his own bed, he wanted to play with his toys and he misses his toys so much.

There's a ''Welcome to Bellagio'' at the entrance of Bellagio and I asked Mr.Freddy if I could snap his photo but he refused. While walking further, he saw this ''VIP looks good on you'', he happily and voluntarily strike a pose in front of this sign.

Went up to the very top of Stratosphere, the tallest observation tower and the 9th tallest freestanding standing structure in the United States, as well as the tallest structure in Las Vegas.

Still in Stratosphere (blurry photo), inside an elevator, one of the world's fastest elevator with a height of 1, 149 feet that took us from the ground to the top in 30 seconds.

Red Rock Canyon

We were about to step out the door of our hotel room for a sight seeing tour but Mr.Freddy fell asleep so I decided to update my blog.

We are on our first week of vacation already. We arrived safely in Las Vegas on the 5th and we are in Utah right now. While in Las Vegas, our first day started in Red Rock Canyon and a stroll at night around the city. I admit, this is my first time in Vegas (or West Coast) and so as the hubby and the lil' man. Everyone was mesmerized by the beautiful lights and we all enjoyed watching the dancing fountains in the facade of Bellagio. For now, I'm sharing you our photos taken at Red Rock Canyon. The lil' man is starting to wake up while writing this. I gotta go now! Stay tuned for we have so many stories and photos to share. Expect that this blog will be flooded with photos from our sweet journey.

Buh-bye 2011, Happy 2012

We used sparkles to welcome 2012.
A half moon, on the night of December 31st.
Lobsters and steamed mussels (not in the picture) were served on dinner table. Seafood has always been part of our tradition every New Year's eve.
While I was browsing my photo archives, I found lil' man's photo. This was his first New Year and yes, we had lobsters for dinner.
Someone fell asleep on the couch while waiting for 2012. I took this photo at exactly 12 midnight, the very first day of 2012.
As I bid goodbye to 2011, there were lots of good memories that are worth-remembering, lots of lessons learned that keeps me tough and a stronger person.
Year 2011 when my friend Mabel gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl named Lyla. Congratulations Mabel and Jeff! As we speak, their bundle of joy is almost 2 months already.
Mr.Freddy with his girl friend Tala. I was so pleased that Alpha and her family invited us for a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. To the Sanford Family, thank you very much for having us into your home!
My friend Alpha who just turned the big 3-0. Happy Birthday again, girlfriend! I wish you all the best and hope all your dreams come true!

Yes, truth hurts and that's the reason why some people sugar coat everything... that's the sad fact of life. Honesty is really the best policy. Honesty sometimes hurt but that's the reality and you have to learn to accept and it depends on how you take it. I'm sorry but I always believed in honesty. ''Truth made you traitor as it often does in a time of scoundrels".
Of course, I am so blessed and grateful for having a loving and supportive husband, who's been our (Mr.Freddy and I) constant photographer. Thank you dearest husband! Love, your forever loyal wifey :-)

The Lil' Man in every Christmas of the year- 2008, 2009 and 2010. From being so chunky baby, and turning into a big boy now. He is growing like a weed.

We had a wonderful Christmas time. As I have said, my Christmas is more enjoyable since Mr.Freddy came into my life. It's been a joy while watching him as he opened his presents from Santa.
On Christmas morning, he was so overwhelmed with all the presents he received.''Are these presents for me, Mommy?"
Yes, that cheeky grin on his face.
So many gifts. He's on Santa's good list; good boy, checked! listen to his Mom and Dad, checked! Well-behaved- (Mmmm... not so always WELL- behaved but at least once in a while.
In every special occasion, I never fail not to take pictures, so here's our Merry Christmas 2011 Photo Memories, on the morning of Christmas.
Still a sleepy lil' man? or I guess, he got tired from the day of baking our thumbprint cookies.
Waaahhh! No! He's not sleepy and tired, he was pretending to be sound asleep. *shaking my head with a smile* The Lil' Man was so silly. I love his sense of humor.
He is the reason why I am happy.
His euphoric smile. I can tell how blissful and lively he was surrounded with gifts, small or big gifts- and that's the magic of gifts on Christmas.

Holiday Cookies

We've been so busy with holidays. For this reason, I ceased updating my blog for more than a week. I know, it does make me feel bad for I have been neglecting our online diary. But on my sweet return, I have so many wonderful stories and photos to share with you, which some of them will be on my next post.
The Lil' Chef is ready to mess up the kitchen.
Each year, baking holiday cookies is at the top list for our Christmas activity. Last year we made gingerbread boy cookies (those photos on my blog header), this year we also have baked; we baked thumbprint cookies! We used Smuckers jam in strawberry and sweet orange marmalade for toppings. I was not compensated for this post in any way. We only like this jam and we've been using this at home for our PBJ sandwich.
For those of you who'd like to make thumbprint cookies that would taste as good as our cookies, just follow the simple steps.
The first thing you do is to whip the butter and sugar together for three minutes. Make sure the butter is soft before mixing. Add tablespoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add 4 cups of flour to the mixer. You can also add spices like cinnamon or nutmeg, if you like. After the mixture is a soft dough place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Once the dough is hardened in the refrigerator, roll in 1 inch diameter balls and coat the balls with the eggwhites and roll the balls either on crust nuts or coconut flakes then place on wax paper on a cookie sheet.
Once the balls are rolled out on a cookie sheet, use your thumb and make a depression in the middle of the ball.
Fill this depression up with your choice of jams.
Place in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes.
Loving the aroma cookie in our house! *sniff, sniff, sniff*
Wah lah! They are done!
By the way, I made those aprons and Mr.Freddy's hat, last year.
Yum, yum! Anybody want some thumbprint cookies?!
Baking with Mr.Freddy is more fun than baking alone by myself. I was laughing out loud with his great sense of humor, imitating Pinocchio.

Gold and Glitters

I love Holidays which I can dress up like a holiday. During special occasions, I'm having fun dressing up which clothing I'd like to wear. Just like my outfit here, they are mostly gold color. I wanted to look festive and I wore my vintage gold brocade Victor Costa blazer, vintage belt and my glitter brogues. Distressed jean from Levi's and F21 sunglasses.

However, Mr.Freddy and I came home from our dentist the other day and look! we got a special teeth. Hahaha!
I couldn't find my special teeth. I had been looking for them... and found out that Mr.Freddy filched them. Hahaha!

We're Waiting For Christmas

There's only five more days till Christmas and we could hardly wait. We are so ready for the holidays already. Our tree has been up since last week. Mr.Freddy helped me decorate it... we filled our Christmas tree with traditional ornaments. I can say, my Christmas has gotten better and more enjoyable since Mr.Freddy came into my life.

The below photos were taken with my iPod touch camera. (Except Mr.Freddy's last photo) Look at our cute Christmas characters hanging up all over the tree and around the house. Most of these ornaments are pretty old.
And the main character of the house looks so Christmassy, doesn't he?

Friends For Keeps

With my dearest friends Mabel and Alpha. Thank you for the photo, Jeff!
I had the best night with my beautiful best pals this past friday. We had dinner at the Quincy Marriott Hotel. Take note, with no kiddos... we are just mothers so we had so much fun. Don't get me wrong, I love to be with my Mr.Freddy but every once in a while, I need some me-time after my 24/7 job being a mother. I am thankful that I have a very understanding husband and allowed me to go out with my friends and he took care of Mr.Freddy. Even before, going out at night with my friends is not a problem with him. Actually, when I told him on our plan for ''ladies night out'', husband quickly answered yes. Yet, he is happy for me.

All three of us had enjoyed our time together. Sharing with a good laugh with great friends is so much fun. By the way, these ladies are my close friends. We rarely talk, especially me, I'm not fond of phone call but in my heart I treasure them as ''friends for keeps''. The good factor of our friendship is our age gap is so close. We have much in common; we agree on things and the humor is we do like the same things. As the saying goes, ''Birds of the same feather flock together''. I have no intention of belittling on my acquaintances here but based on my experience, they are the only people I met who have this beyond level of thinking (like dealing with sensitive topics) compared to other people I encountered here. Alpha has been my friend since I came to America. Unlike other people I met here were introduced to me through only a common friend. But my friendship with Alpha started when husband introduced me to her. They first met my husband while I was in my country. My relationship with Mabel began when Alpha introduced her to me. So when I connect the dots looking backwards on how my friendship with Mabel became special- that is because with Alpha. No one has the right to speak and I can't stand people who keep bragging, if not with them I did not have anything. All I can say, I owe nothing to anyone. Anyhow, I don't want you to be jaded with my rant and rave so, enjoy our pictures! Alpha and Mabel, let's do this again! Thanks Alpha for organizing our ''ladies night out''!

After the sumptuous dinner and chitchats, this is what we were up to- photo shoots here and there. Another funny thing about us, our outfits were matched; Alpha and I went on crimson coats. Mabel and Alpha had an embellished animal printed outfits. Hahaha, look at our chain strap bags too! No, we didn't talk on what to wear. "Great minds think alike'', aren't we?

And the photo shoots were never finished without my solo pictures. Thank you Alpha for my paparazzi that night!
Earrings were birthday present from Alpha.
Hahaha, even the hotel floor became the victim of my photo shoot! I was so enthusiastic with the carpet on how it matches my blouse.

Dark Green + Brown

As soon as the hubby got home from work yesterday I asked him immediately if he doesn't mind doing an outfit photo shoot of myself. Good thing, the paparazzo was in the mood and agreed with me. While he eats his lunch, I rushed up to the room to get dressed. I was too lazy to put make up on so thank you to these lovely sunnies that hides my ugly face. LOL! I just put a little lipstick for an instant look and voila! I achieved the look I wanted.

Mr.Freddy was sound asleep when hubby took my pictures so I dressed him up today for our last minute shopping to match my yesterday's outfit.
Remember this lil' girl I blogged before? Every time we go to Old Navy store, Mr.Freddy would go near the dog and to the girl and would say hi to them. I noticed the lil' man is growing up very fast, after four months, he is now taller than the girl.

Gingerbread Boy

Our decorated gingerbread boy cookie.
This morning after our breakfast, we decorated this pre-made gingerbread boy cookie given by my friend last Christmas. I have already forgotten this cookie but because Mr.Freddy likes to rummage through drawers and cabinets, he accidentally found this. Being a busybody that he has at home is an advantage sometimes.
Here are the photos earlier while Mr.Freddy decorating the gingerbread boy. Of course, I helped him to decorate... I painted its eyes, hair, clothes, buttons and boots because he can eat the icings non stop. He just did the final touch. Right after the decoration, he begged me if he can eat it. Haha! Perhaps, he'd be like the fox who devours the gingerbread boy.

Green

It is undeniable that we are so close to the winter. Aside from cold temperatures and brisk winds, one of the signs that it is winter when trees have no leaves. In every twist and turn, it's so depressing to see bare trees and dying grass. So I wore green for a fresh feel and somehow this color gives life to a dull surroundings.
I adore this vintage dress. I should have cut it beyond the knee but I was too excited wearing it.
This green choker was given by my friend Alpha, four years ago. Thank you dear friend!

One of my favorite boots by GianFranco Ferre even it is so painful in the foot. I like it because it's green! I love everything that is green!
The Lil Man was too busy playing on the sand. He didn't want to have pictures taken with me, ''I'm too busy, Mommy", he said.
But he gave me the sweetest smile!

Holiday Photos

Yes, I am back from my one week hiatus! I feel I was gone for a very long time but if you think, it was only just a week. Mr.Freddy broke my laptop, and this was the reason why I was silent. Fortunately, Apple diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. I am so glad that I got to hold this gadget back in my hand finally. I had been itching and how I truly missed blogging so much. Now that my laptop is up and running, I am back on updating my blog often.

Burgundy Coat

I supposed I could have a lot of pictures from Thanksgiving but it never happened. My husband went to the rescue few people at the hospital and because of that we didn't eat together at the dinner table. Anyways stop to this story and I will move on to Mom and Son saga. On the next day, Mr.Freddy and I went shopping on Black Friday. I had never gone to the Black Friday sales in the past but I decided to go to the mall to experience what it's like to shop during one of these holidays. It was a mob scene when we got there. I did't get anything for myself. Mr.Freddy consumed all my time perusing the racks of Disney Store and the toy section of Target. Handling between a terrible three lil' man and the crowd at the mall was quite exhausting so I decided to go home.

Mr.Freddy has the sniffles so he wasn't in the mood to join me for a photo shoot yesterday. I am wearing a burgundy coat I scored few years ago and dark lipstick to match my outfit.

This sling bag was a gift from my friend Mabel.

At Bar Harbor, Maine

Walking hand to hand with my lil' darling as the sun sets on Bar Harbor, Maine.

I haven't finished yet sharing our pictures when we had a jaunt to Maine late last month. I have forgotten it until I went through my photo library tonight. Because it's Thanksgiving week, I have taken time to reflect on everything. While browsing through my photos I realize how grateful I am for the opportunity that we are or were able to visit the places that everyone dreams. Whenever we travel, we always have great weather, safe return and sweet memories forever. Above all, I thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us.

"Walk fast, Mommy. Hurry up!".He was so excited to wander around the city for the first time. I've been here (Bar Harbor) many times when Mr.Freddy wasn't yet born.

Purple and Light Green

Every time Mr.Freddy saw me all dressed up, he will look at me from head to foot in conjunction with his dancing eyes saying, ''Mommy, you are very beautiful!'' His wonderful remark really surprises me. Comment like this, I would like not to believe but I am convince to believe Mr.Freddy because I knew a child doesn't know how to lie. His mind is clean, no mixed pretension and above all, he tells the truth- which telling the truth is most important for me. For his comments, my weakness becomes my strength. For his honest remarks, my spirit becomes strong and alive. Just like these photos right after I dressed up, Mr.Freddy commented how beautiful I was. He asked me, if he could touch my gray tights (he called them socks). To the Lil' Man, thank you so much for helping me boost my self-confidence. You get me motivated in life. So guys, what do you think of my outfit? Do you agree with Mr.Freddy? Hahaha!

Sunset/Sunshine

Stunning view and the phosphorescent water of Boston Harbor. I am one proud wife every time I see this photo taken by the hubby in East Boston this past Spring. I couldn't believe he took this photo. Hahaha!
I love sunset, hubby loves sunset. We both enjoy watching the clouds at sunset. This is one thing that hubby and I have something in common. I remember when we were just boyfriend-girlfriend, just like others who are on a relationship, we have terms of endearment too. However, our ''terms'' sound kinda odd and unusual. Suddenly one day he called me Sunshine and I called him back Sunset. I thought Sunset was simply the word that matches the Sunshine. I hope this doesn't sound corny for you. So guys, do you have any term of endearment for your special someone? Please share, I would love to hear yours.
Because of warm weather, the family is busy still for an outdoor fun. Our recent destination was East Boston. Sunsets are beautiful there. Watching the sunset together with my family is truly amazing. Very romantic. My heart gets like fury as the aflame sunset, on the contrary as to what husband always say to me that my heart is always cold. Hahaha! I really do love watching sunset because it gives me this magical feeling.
Can you guess who took this photo? On this case, yours truly did. I am glad my first DSLR is no longer kaput. This is more convenient to use than the hubby's heavy professional camera.

Walking, walking, walking...
... while the Lil' Man did was a nonstop running. Oh, he was so restless!
What we wore:
Mr.Freddy found this ground light that served as his wishing light. He was already hinting to Santa Claus what he wants on Christmas.
He wished for a talking Lightning McQueen. His likes for Cars still hasn't changed when he was a baby.
Besides Cars, he wished for Bumblebee Transformers.
Where is the sun lady? Hahaha. I looked silly with my sunglasses still on.
One of my favorite boots when Autumn/Winter comes. Purchased them three years ago.
We spent a couple of hours in East Boston, Mr.Freddy also spent two hours without a break in running.
I just bought him new boots but they have already some scuff marks on the front because of him walking on his knees. Oh, Lil' Man!
The Lil' Man won't let me hold his hand wherever we go because he said he is a big boy already.

Yesterday, was another beautiful day to be out and about. Mr.Freddy wore his Little Rue shirt sent by Rue La La. The clothes I wore were personally mine to matched the colors of Mr.Freddy's outfit. We spent our afternoon at a nearby bookstore. I read a couple of Mr.Freddy's favorite books to him, it was Disney Cars. If you have been a long time reader of my blog, he is so bonkers over Lightning McQueen and Mater. Hubby bought a book for himself to read.

We reached the lunch time while waiting for Mr.Freddy playing with the toy trains. Our stomachs were growling so we grabbed a bite to eat at a seafood restaurant. I forgot to take pictures of my food. Hence, just enjoy the ''after'' lunch photos.

In The Woods

I had been wanting to update my blog since yesterday afternoon but I couldn't concentrate on writing. I was wishing Mr.Freddy would take a nap in the afternoon but he refused again yesterday. My time was reserved for him. ''It's daytime. The sun is out. I don't need to take a nap. I'm not sleepy, Mommy". These were the answers I received from him. He certainly has reasoning powers and response that surprises me. Luckily, he took a nap and is sound asleep, as of this writing. As soon as his eyelids were closed I hastily hopped onto my laptop to update my blog. I hope he will sleep like a log so I can finish my writing.
It was another gorgeous day for an outdoor family activity. Mr.Freddy and I clad in light green and off-white clothes but we didn't know yet where to go. While driving, husband suddenly thought we will take a hike into the woods, and I agreed even wearing heels. Yes, I was wearing heels! And why I couldn't refuse? Because hiking is a good exercise. It is a great leisure and recreation for the family. It was so uplifting to see the magnificent light and colors from in the woods. I realized my skirt turned into a see-through skirt when the sun strikes it.

What we wore:

The original owner of this shoe was actually my friend, Alpha (my shopping buddy) then later on she sold it to me. I remembered, we scored this from a consignment store in Boston three years ago.
In the woods, there was a hill (while Mr.Freddy called it a mountain) covered with pine needles, the Lil' Man would raised both his hands up in the air and slid down the hill.
Hubby told me the story why Mr.Freddy was holding a stick here in this photo. This photo was taken after the photo shoot. I went ahead of them back to the car. Mr.Freddy had a great time sliding down the hill and didn't want to leave in the woods so hubby told him they needed to go home, his Mommy is alone in the car. A bear might attack me. Hubby explained that they are men and its their job to protect me from danger. After hubby explained to him, Mr.Freddy stopped playing and picked up a stick on their way to the car and told hubby that he will protect Mommy with the stick from wild animals.

Colorful Life

Every afternoon I always encourage Mr.Freddy to take a nap. As a parent, naps are important for him; for his health and it aids him to have a finer behavior at the end. When he has lack of sleep, he gets cranky, stubborn and throwing horrible tantrums that can be blatant frustrating on our (hubby and I) part. This afternoon, I was trying Mr.Freddy to take a nap. I sent him to his room but he refused to lie down. He insisted that he wasn't sleepy. So, to convinced the Lil' Man I told him that I am sleepy and I needed a nap. I left him to his room and I returned to my room. I heard him yelling that he wasn't sleepy and I hollered back at him that I am going to take a nap too. He was yelling still but I decided to ignore him. It's better that way than I answered back to him again. I really wanted him to take a nap. In five minutes, I heard his footsteps coming close to my room. I pretended to be asleep in my stomach and he was trying to wake me up. He shook me many times with a whisper in my ear, ''Wake up, Mommy.''. He even sang some songs to wake me but to no avail. He didn't know I was laughing, silently. I pretended to be sound asleep still so he left out the room and returned blowing on a toy harmonica. He came closer to me, whispered softly to wake me up and started playing the harmonica again. Oh, goofy Lil' Man! And I arose.... I couldn't stop myself laughing at him.
We are having a remarkable and beautiful Autumn this year. We always do outdoor activities as much as possible, taking advantage of warm weather. Just like these pictures, we all had a great time and spent quality time together at the park. Mr.Freddy played with the water in the pond. He got messy. We went home what else but with his wet clothes. If I wasn't watching him he will immediately jump right into it. Having a loving husband and a happy Mr.Freddy, I incorporated my colorful life into our outfits. Enjoy the pictures, guys.

Black and White

Taking care of my three year old child who is now at terrible three is a struggle I am facing right now. I couldn't have thought that motherhood would be as difficult as I have imagined. With the Lil' Man, every day is a great challenge for me and always a test of my patience. Now that I am a mother, I realized it is difficult to discipline a child. When he misbehaves, I thought of mothers who have more than one children. I wondered and questioned myself how they were able to take care of many children. Perhaps, it's the mother's instinct that most women have. Because having the Lil' Man is just like I cared for two children. I am not complaining, this is my realization of the bittersweet of motherhood. You don't know how grateful I am having Mr.Freddy, and a husband who is very supportive and reliable in housework. Just like my mom and to all mothers who have raised their children right with morals, my snappiest salute to them.
Today's outfit post is Black and White. Mr.Freddy and I dressed up again and went with hubby to take photo for his landscape photography.

Finding the right jeans that fit just right can be a difficult task especially for someone who is petite just like me. I am always having a hard time finding the perfect jeans that fit me the way I want. Mt.Auburn Cemetery

Cemeteries hold a special place in my heart. Way back in my childhood days growing up in a rural area, cemeteries are stamped on my mind. I considered it as a scary place that gives me a chill when I walk past areas filled with tall weeds and grass. But it's different here in America, they do better in maintaining the cemetery grounds.
Few days ago was All Soul's Day so we thought it is appropriate to go to a cemetery. (Actually it was husband's brilliant idea for his photography.) It was a gorgeous day to wander around, so the whole family marched to Mt.Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We didn't have any relatives buried there but I've seen pictures of this cemetery that I've always wanted to go to. Not to mention, if you like history, there are many notable people who are buried there such as Mary Eddy Baker (founder of Christian Science religion, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (an America poet who wrote, 'Paul Revere's Ride'), Edwin Herbet Land (co-founder of Polaroid), James Russell Lowell (American Romantic poet), Fannie Farmer (cookbook author), Isabella Stewart Gardner (museum founder) and others here. This place is absolutely beautiful that you could almost consider it a park. There are so many beautiful spots here where you could spend a day relaxing, watching the ducks in the pond or hear birds chirping.The Autumn colors of the trees are so breathtaking. Also, the view from the tower overlooking Cambridge and Boston was spectacular! Mt.Auburn Cemetery is one of the beautiful cemeteries I had visited besides Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
The lil' man had so much energy and I was so exhausted from chasing him around. I suspected it was from eating too much sweets from Halloween. He was laughing out loud while he buried me with leaves on the ground. There was a tree nearby the pond that he liked swinging on the tree limb. When it was time to leave he didn't want to go home. It's new memories were formed again shared with the love of my life.

Are you ready for winter yet? Are your feet warm and dry enough in cold weather? Staying warm and keeping your feet warm and comfortable in cold weather is essential.

As I have mentioned in my previous, we were expecting a big snowstorm. Luckily, we weren't affected (thank you so much everyone for your concern) but it snowed in some areas of Massachusetts. Because I couldn't wait to wear my Godiva boots that was sent by Rieni (thanks Rieni!), we traveled to Concord, Massachusetts which received 4 inches of snow. Finally, I had a chance to wear these boots in the snow. We were supposed to visit Walden Pond, where a famous writer, transcendentalist and philosopher Henry David Thoreau lived on the shores of the pond for two years starting in the summer of 1845. When we arrived at the place we found out that it's a half mile trek from the parking lot to Thoreau's cabin replica and the road was icy wet from the last night's rain which could be a treacherous hike for us having a toddler in tow. So we just took pictures at Walden Pond's parking lot.

My own Dominion 'Godiva' Women's Lace Front Tall Shearling Boot. I wore them in the snow. They got wet in the puddle of water but my feet are still dry inside. This is a very good boot that keep my feet warm. Yet, they are so comfortable. I love the stylish lace-up front of this boot!This boot is made of 100% sheepskin upper sole, 100% sheepskin inner sole (note on the photo above) keeping my feet warm, and outer sole is made of synthetic. What's more good about this boot is, it is made in New Zealand. I hate name-dropping so I will give you an idea that this product is a good quality compared to other products produced in the country you'll find almost in all products nowadays.

Trick-or-Treating in Pit Crew Costume

When Mr.Freddy was Buzz Lightyear from last year's Halloween, he was dressed up as Lightning McQueen pit crew tonight. He did a great job trick-or-treating earlier; he went home with bucketful of candies and chocolates. If he was too scared with all the scary costumes of the kids last year, tonight the lil' man was braved and joined with the neighborhood kids halloweening. He had so much fun, and as a mother I am also pleased watching my son going house to house , knocking on people's door and reciting that famous line over and over again; Trick-or-treat! while reaching his basket. Whenever someone gave him treats, he ran towards us (to hubby and I) to show what he got. We took him trick-or-treating around the circle of our neighborhood and his bucket got really filled and heavy for him that he had difficulty lifting it, so he asked his dad to carry his treats. When we came home, he quickly poured his bucketful of candies on the floor and ate them. But with some of his candies, he only removed them out from their wrappers, tasted only them briefly and open a new candy. I knew, he will eat all of his candies if I didn't stop him. It's a great joy knowing the lil' man had really a great time trick-or-treating tonight.

Asticou Azalea Garden

While traveling from Thunder Hole, we unexpectedly saw this beautiful japanese garden called Asticou Azalea Garden in Northeast Harbor, Maine. We were stunned by the view, so we made a sudden stop. Of course, what I had in mind?! What else but photo shoot again! With its colorful foliage trees and reflecting man-made pond, I abruptly thought of what outfit that will suit the setting. Good thing, I brought the clothes and quickly looked for a restroom and changed from what I wore here. Mr.Freddy and I didn't do matching outfits. He didn't dress up again. He liked what he was wearing, so I just let him be where he was comfortable on.

On this serene well-manicured garden we ran around and sneaked up behind dragonflies trying to catch them. Out of hundreds of dragonflies, I had only caught one, showed it to Mr.Freddy for a while and I freed it again.

Mr.Freddy stood on this healthy green grass, did his own version of make-a-wish. If others used a coin and a wishing well, Mr.Freddy had his own adaptation with making-a-wish. He drew the grass, made a wish before he threw it in the water. Wasn't he a clever lil' man to think of this idea?!

Stonehouse

When we were on our way to Thunder Hole and Otter Creek (which is still part of Acadia National Park in Maine), we drove by a stonehouse and couldn't resist not to stopped by for a photoshoot here. I like the feel of this house peacefully surrounded by vines and dried leaves that had fallen off the trees. Yet, a symbol and one description of Autumn. No one living in this house, so we took the opportunity playing; picking up and throwing out leaves against each other. It was a fun game! When it was time to go back to the car, Mr.Freddy quickly hopped up right away to the driver's seat and started steering the wheel, giggling at his Mom and Dad . He usually does this to us. He always dream to be his Mommy and Daddy's driver, but we (hubby and I) told him he doesn't have a driver's license yet and he must wait until he reaches the legal age and indulge himself driving us around anywhere. He was convinced with our advice and happily returned back to his car seat without compelling his parents. Because he listens to us, we are pleased with him.

Apple and Pumpkin Picking

We went apple picking at the Applecrest Farm in New Hampshire this past Sunday. This is another last minute plan that just popped out from husband's mind. We actually had already made our first apple-picking-plans but not on this farm. The original plan was to go apple picking in the western part of Massachusetts, and to visit few of the museums there, but MIL suddenly changed her mind and was uncertain to go. Yet, we were left uncertain. Then, Sunday morning hubby was motivated to go apple picking because the apples might be all gone by then. MIL joined with us too. (I am selfish that I cannot show her pictures online. She likes her private life and I don't want to invade her privacy either). To my friends, Alpha and Mabel, I wished you could have joined us. I lost my mind- sorry. We will plan ahead next time.

If you've been following my blog, this is Mr.Freddy's fourth time to go apple-picking. I must say, his fourth is more fun and enjoyable than his first, second and third. He was more active and had participated more in picking apples. He learned how to pick apples correctly. He listened to what I've taught not to grab the apple and do not yank it off the tree. But, one thing I always see when we were gone apple picking was, either he always had an apple on his hand or munching the apple. He may tripped and fell but still he firmly holding his apple. What a tough lil' man!

Flashback: Jordan Pond

It feels great to be back to Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park in Maine and built more memories. Not only husband and I, but now, we shared and made new memories with the love of our life, Mr.Freddy. I remember still, I stood on one of these rocks here (as seen on the left photo above), and now I can hardly believe that I returned to this place, stood again in one of these rocks holding my son in my arms. Just as we were in paradise, we were free as a wild animal. With beautiful mountains surround us, you only hear our joyous echoed laughter. These sweet memories bring magnificent feeling and is really warming to my heart!

Flashback: Camden, Maine

I still remember that day, it was four years ago, when hubby and I (it was in the months when we were newlyweds) went to Camden, Maine. This past weekend, we were very happy to revisit this place with Mr.Freddy in tow. So, here are the oodles of photos from our long weekend trip, rambling around the area of Camden- our first landing-place! Be entertained. I hope this post would not bore you again with loads of photographs.
We all left our hotel very early in the morning, headed to Mt.Battie-Camden Hills State Park to witnessed the very first appearance of sunrise for the day.

After spending an hour at Mt.Battie, we strolled around Camden area, snapped some photos with the waterfalls followed by a sail on an old New England Schooner "Appledore". The captain was so kind to lend us a blanket to keep us warm from cold air.

My Lil' Man's Paparazzi

As a mother, I feel like my son is the most handsome of all children. Ooops! Don't tell me that I sound like a very boastful person. Don't even arch your eyebrows at me. And don't even tell me I am ''lifting my own chair''. Because I know you will also say you have the most beautiful baby in the world! I am surely most mothers will say the same, too!
Mr.Freddy makes me proud of him. He is always the apple of my eye. He is always the subject of my life. I am his number one fan and he is the one whom I adore so much!
Mr.Freddy taught me how to love unconditionally. He is my biggest obsession. Even his face gets filthy and his nose is running, for me, he is still very handsome. Even when he is all sweaty and smelly, for me, he is still fragrant to me.
So, wherever we go my camera is always hanging on my shoulder, ready and agile as Mr.Freddy's paparazzi.

Spur-of-the-moment trip to Vermont

It was only a few weeks ago when we traveled to DC, then on Thursday we traveled again. But, this time our destination was Vermont. The latter trip was spur-of-the-moment travel.

It was one of those days when I sought for my native foods, so I went to a nearby Asian Store to satisfied my cravings. When I came home from grocery shopping, I received a message from husband, if I would like to go and spent overnight in Vermont! He was just two hours drive from home, and instructed me to pack our things. Oh wow, we really have a busy life! I will say we are a family who is always on the go!

I'm bombarding you with pictures again! Taking photograph is very important in our travel bucket list.

Picturesque view of Jenne Farm located in Reading, Vermont. This farm is New England's most photographed farm, and even North America's.

How famous is this farm? Photos of the farm appeared on notecards, calendars, magazine covers and posters. We arrived at the farm before sunrise and there were 15 other photographers shooting Jenne Farm.
Jenne Farm also appeared in a Budweiser commercial, and served as a setting in movies Forrest Gump and Funny Farm.
Because this was an unplanned trip I called this as my spur-of-the-moment outfit. I didn't get a chance to stare at my small closet and not thought of what to wear. Good thing, for me, this outfit wasn't bad at all.This was the lil' man's outfit.

Beautiful spot at Jenne Farm for flying a kite with 29 degrees external temperature; followed with breakfast at Eaton's Sugarhouse- Mr.Freddy got his new toy truck from Eaton's souvenir shop; stopped by at a cheese store with some cool vintage Coca-cola sign in Sugar Hill, NH.
The Woodchuck Hollow Lane in Washington, VT- one of the deadliest road we had ever driven in our life. Behind this postcard-like picture, the muddy and narrow cliff hanging roads surprised us and terrified me the most. There's no other way for us to went backward, instead we have to went forward. Husband had to get out of the car every bend of the road trying to figure out how to overcome the boulders. In every bump the car hit the boulder I got jitters while Mr.Freddy was giggling and thought it was all fun! Thank God, we surpassed the obstacles and we got out of this out-of-nowhere road alive!

Camouflage Fashion

Autumn 2007 in Maine, four eons ago, wearing camouflage outfit. This was before I wasn't pregnant.
Do you notice I've been posting old photos here? Like, they were taken a while back with no any child yet. It's entertaining to look back at old photos and their sweet memories, isn't it? Old photos showed how much different I looked and how I have changed.
Camouflage clothing has now become a fashion statement over the past decade. It is now made for all, children and adults, and any gender. You can also find camo cases for your electronic gadgets, accessories, lingeries, and even embellishments that give your house a fashionable appearance. However, in the past centuries camouflage is imperative in countries military operations. The word ''camouflage'' itself simply allows a visible organism, person, or object to hide and mislead by blending with its environment. Camouflaging serves many functions. In combat, the purpose of camouflage is to help soldiers defeat against the opponent. For animals, they use their powers of camouflage to protect themselves from predators or to catch for prey. Hunters also purposely wear camouflage clothing depending to the game they are hunting. An example is wearing a bright orange camouflage... this is a striking color for us humans, but it is known that large animals like deer see the orange as a dull color.
Just like in the remote areas of the Philippines and some other countries set laws that prohibit camouflage clothing from being worn by non-military members. These laws may be driven by the fear that a civilian might be mistaken by government armed forces for revolting, or vice versa and lead to the shooting .
Military-inspired looks are ''in'' again this Fall. So, we were marching this season with a camouflage shirts. I purchased them last year. The above picture with my camouflage shirt on, I don't know where I kept it no more. I remembered it was from Old Navy in kids' size.

Woke up to another beautiful morning. While I was in bed, apparently I was half-awake and half-asleep. I thought I was only dreaming when Freddy tapped a white paper on my face with excitement telling me to open the envelope, and hubby was at the foot of the bed smiling. Still I struggled to open my eyes because it was already past 2AM when we arrived home from Alpha's house so I was squinting when I opened the envelope. They surprised me with a birthday card!

For me, ''I can't ask for more'' may sound cliche and false. So on my special day, I ask for more blessings, more happiness and good health. Of course, I would like to greet myself a Happy Birthday! At Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

Due to my own carelessness, I inadvertently left my laptop charger at the hotel where I stayed at this past weekend. I just found out about it only when I came home unpacking my suitcases. Gosh! I got so disappointed at my negligence. Do you know that feeling when you come to the point when you're so excited with things and you find nothing there. I felt really bad leaving my laptop charger because I was just too excited to update my blog, and reconnecting with my friends and family back home, of course. Unlike using a cellphone it will cost me an arm and a leg when a phone bill comes, or using a phone card calling someone international, usually data usage devours up minutes just to make a call. With internet nowadays, I can keep in touch with my parents and siblings seeing them on webcam with unlimited talk. Good thing, I well-remembered where I exactly left the charger, and luckily the hotel immediately mailed it back to me. In those days without a laptop, I had a quality time together with my husband- often, movie night with him. He was so sweet and surprised me and recorded few movies for us to watch. It sounds so cheesy but it was an awesome date! and we both discussed we will watch movies together once a week at home with popcorn and stuff just like in the movie theatre! Haha!
I know, it's hard getting back even a week of no blogging ... and today I am back again after a week of silence here. For my return, I am sharing you with manifold of pictures from our weekend jaunt in DC. Because it rained, we spent the day at the National Air and Space Museum.
September 9, 2007- My first visit at Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. This was before I conceived with Mr.Freddy. Behind is Breitling Orbiter 3 was the first balloon to fly around the world non-stop.
My second time at the museum, stood on the same spot as before. Four years now and I'm glad to revisited the place with my son beside me.
Mr.Freddy, at the age of three, he's very eager to learn about planets and moons of our solar system.
He enjoyed steering this Cosmic Speedometer. I couldn't stop him to leave this area.
He gazed into the galaxy and got amazed when the light changes its color every time he steered the speedometer. This cosmic speedometer help him understands that the faster the galaxy is moving away from him, the more its light waves are stretched towards the red.
He was in awe also when he saw the astronaut what it's like in space.
He saw Charles Lindbergh paper statue and asked me to take a picture of him copying Mr.Lindbergh's pose. What a clown lil' man!
He called this a ''big movie theatre''. Again, I also had a hard time for him to leave this area. He had been so enthralled by the humungous screen with a giant image of a space station. If you only see his eyes were like an owl eyes and his happy mouth when he talked. He sat down and kept waiting for the astronaut to come out. It was so much fascination for him.

This was the scenario with Mr.Freddy in the museum. He always walked ahead of us. The airplanes and aircrafts beguiled him.
There's a store inside the museum and I had fun trying out these souvenirs.
He got his new toy- an airplane.
If it had not rained we could have gone and stroll around DC, just like the last time when husband and I visited White House, Lincoln Memorial and many landmarks to mention. But still the trip was enjoyable especially for Mr.Freddy.
I was just happy so I was waving my hand hello at YOU!
Two waves are better than one! Haha!

Always Be Prepared

Speaking of weather, today is completely different than it was today. If yesterday was sunny, a gloomy and rainy day today. We just stayed home. There was nowhere else for us to go, my car was in the repair shop, getting it checked making sure my car is safe to drive in the highway before our trip this coming weekend. Although we were home all day today but it was fun!- the loud laughter and giggles of Mr.Freddy every time I tickled him was so contagious. He is the type of person who wants to be tickled. This child is loving life at its best.

I knew beforehand that it is going to rain today so I did an outfit shoot already yesterday. Ok. I am not a God nor I talked to the gods that I can predict what's up with the weather for the following day, but this is based on weather forecast. I check weather.com ahead of time, just in case I am going some place or have things to do in a particular day I will be able to do an alternative courses of actions at the least. I preferred of being always prepared in everything I do. In that sense there's no wasted time. I'm not getting any younger, every hour is important to me now. I want to live each day efficiently and effectively.

I wore my workout clothes- my favorite shirt from Nike, leggings from Marshalls, F21 faux fur vest and my Chloe-esque ankle wedge boots I purchased last year.
Sporting my new Chanel 4184 sunglasses. I'm not really sure if this is the perfect sunglasses for me. But my photographer says they really look good on me.
Looking through the Public-Telescope-Stands-Waiting-on-a-scenic-view of Atlantic Ocean. Photo shoot done at Nantasket Beach (same location when we went surfing) located in Hull, MA. This beach is known for its fine and light gray sand. Wiki says, the name "Nantasket" is derived from Wompanoag and means ''at the strait'' or ''low-tide place".

I can smell Autumn in the air now... the leaves are starting to change color and the nights grow longer and cooler. This past week, I have been wearing sleeveless or shorts, and today I am surprised how quickly climate changes to cold.

We were in mid 60's earlier, a cool day when I did this outfit shoot, but I didn't feel the cold I was just being wise and stayed most of the time under the sun.

This is what I wore today- clothes were from 3 years ago. I am enthralled that I can now wear all of my pre-pregnancy clothes and they fit well on me.
I removed my ponytail and let the breeze blowing through my hair. I love that feeling, and at times, I can smell my hair too.
Studded leggings and killer shoes always make a perfect tandem!

On the other hand, Mr.Freddy was sound asleep again when I did this outfit shoot. Hence, I am sharing you some photos of him taken at the beach (it was the same day when I took these photos but with a better camera).

Bumble Bee

The weather is just so perfect today, not too hot and not too cold, it's just right, so there's no reason for me to confine myself in the house. My photographer is back home from work sitting idle and all of a sudden an outfit photo shoot agility crossed my mind.
With intense and blinding sun light, I wore yellow to suit the color of the sun.

I must say I don't have a preferred clothing style. I wear any clothes that I want to wear. I find dressing up is fun and sometimes I will pull the clothes out from my closet without visualizing how it will look upon me. So, when hubby saw my outfit he told me I looked like a bumble bee! (Aren't I lucky having a photographer and critique at the same time?) I felt I was stupid because I had a delayed reaction on his comment of my outfit that I gaped and it took me a while to absorbed what he said. Haha! I got it! It was because of the colors of my outfit.

Hubby was somewhat right! I do look like a bumble bee plus with the big sunglasses on. But I justified that one of the stripes on my shirt isn't color black, in fact, it is navy blue when you look at it closely and keenly.

Speaking of bumble bee, Mr.Freddy got stung by a bee and all his eyes were swollen.
